Let your public speaking confidence be established by your inner voice

The vast majority of people would love to improve their public speaking confidence.

Am I right?

But mastering public speaking can sometimes be fearful.

Many of us are usually overcome with fear when wehave to talk publicly and that fear is cause by our own absence of confidence.

And that confidence drainer is our own small voice within our heads.

You know the one. That inner voice inside your head which tells you off or stops you trying something new or reminds you to call somebody or tells you to have some chocolate!

So what does your inner voice say when you’re about to go onto the stage and publicly speak?

Does it say This is gong to be fun i can’t wait to start or does it say You can’t do this you are going to look so dumb.

Which one? Honestly?

How frequently has your inner voice stopped you trying something new?

How often do you let your inner voice talk you out of doing something?

Now imagine if your inner voice, which is stopping you moving forward, was a genuine person with a genuine voice. So you are nearly to give adisplay to an audience made up of 100 senior staff and your best mate says, you are going to mess this one up. You are going to forget your words, you are going to be tongue-tied.

Somebody will raise a question and you will not know the answer . Don’t do it, it isn’t worth the suffering or agony.

How’s that make you feel? Your best mate has just ridiculed you. Let me know, they wouldn’t be your best friend for long, if they actually did that.

Thatis precisely what you are allowing your own inner voice to do to you every single day.

Why?

You are in control. In reality, just listen to your inner voice for the next hour and see how many negatives things it is informing you. Jot down a note of them put them down.

You will be amazed how many times your inner voice is telling you negative things.

You want to stop the negative comments now.

You must turn them around and make your inner voice talk to you in a positive way.

Next time you are about to go on stage, let your voice say to you :
The audience is going to like you. Youare going to be funny, charming, engaging. You are going to wow the crowd with your knowledge.

By controlling your inner voice and making it positive, it can only improve your public speaking confidence.
